About Tim Ho Wan
Dim Sum Specialist - with 17 consecutive years of Michelin recognition in Hong Kong, now in Irvine!
Tim Ho Wan is a dim sum in Irvine, California. It is listed at 2700 Alton Pkwy Suite 127-131, Irvine, CA 92606, which places it among the local businesses of Irvine that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Irvine; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. This was my first time visiting here with my friend, and we absolutely loved it! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was amazing, and all of the staff were so friendly. I truly felt like a queen here. A special thank you to our server, Lam. She was the sweetest and funniest person, and she made our dinner even more enjoyable. Overall, the entire staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. We can’t wait to come back!

Fast service and amazingly authentic, delicious food! Everything was great, but I highly recommend these dishes: Pork Congee: Smooth, creamy, and packed with full flavor. Golden Lava Salted Egg Bun: Soft, fluffy exterior with a rich, delicious filling. Black Truffle Mushroom Rice Roll: Incredibly aromatic with a perfect, silky-smooth texture. Pan-Fried Radish Cake: Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor. Overall a fantastic dining experience—will definitely be coming back!

We had a pleasant dining experience at Tim Ho Wan in Irvine. We only waited less than 10 minutes to be seated during lunch time on a Saturday. The menu is slightly different from how I remember it from the Philippines but overall the food quality and taste remains the same. The prices listed are all budget friendly. Also a big shout out to our server, Nam! She went above and beyond for us to experience exceptional customer service. Hope we get her still as our server in the future.

Just tried Tim Ho Wan in Irvine and it did not disappoint. The dim sum was fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. The Iberico BBQ pork was super tender and juicy, and every dish came out hot and perfectly made. Service was friendly, the renovated space looks great, and the tea selection really elevated the whole experience. Definitely one of the best dim sum spots in Irvine! Will 100% be back.

Came here twice now, both times around 5:30-6pm on a Saturday. There was no wait when we arrived, though it was about 90% full. There was a line by the time we finished. The food was great. Really authentic flavors that honestly made me feel like I was back in Hong Kong. It’s hard to find dim sum that hits that nostalgic mark, but this place does. I’d happily come back anytime when I’m craving proper Hong Kong style dim sum. We also liked their ginseng oolong tea, which was really fragrant and smooth with a gentle sweetness on the finish. We even asked if we could buy the tea leaves but they weren’t available for sale. I hope they consider offering that in the future! Service was a bit mixed, but overall fine. Our first server, Rich was friendly and gave good recommendations. The QR code ordering system wasn’t working at the time (they were still within their first month/soft opening), and there were a few small mix-ups - we received iced tea instead of hot tea, and at one point given the bill with change before we even ordered. Nothing that really bothered us, just minor kinks that probably come with a new opening. The second visit was the opposite experience, the main server
